Areas of Practice

Brio Porter has practiced in Polk County, Iowa since 2012.  He has handled numerous criminal cases, including but not limited to: Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), possession charges, probation and parole violations.  Brio has special training and experience with adoptions, registry placement actions, juvenile delinquencies, termination appeals, and every stage of child in need of assistance (CINA) proceedings.  Additionally, he has experience handling domestic abuse civil protective orders, civil commitments, dependent adult guardianship, and child guardianship proceedings.

He has some experience with other areas of the law.  If you contact us and we cannot help you, we will refer you to someone who can provide you effective legal assistance.

Education

Brio Porter received his Juris Doctor (law degree) from Emory School of Law in 2010.  After moving to Iowa he received an LLM (specialist law degree) in child advocacy from Drake Law School in 2014. 

At Emory, he received numerous honors and achievements including the Emory Law Achievement Grant and the Dean’s award for academic excellence.  At Drake, Brio received valuable experience in the Drake Center for Children's Rights and completed his degree with a 4.0 grade point average.
